The purpose of this assignment is to create an overview of the analytics life cycle to be used within the organization you have selected for the previous topic assignments as a means to create an effective decision-making infrastructure for systems management of your proposed solutions (determined in Topic 2). In addition to a written paper, this assignment requires students to use MS Visio or similar drawing tool to create a high-level concept drawing of the analytical life cycle based on the required content of the paper. In a 500-word paper, address the following. 1. List a minimum of eight questions to be answered from various reports and queries. 2. Identify the key performance indicators (KPI) to measure and report for each question. 3. Explain where the data for the KPIs will originate by listing the various databases, data warehouses, data marts, etc. that house the data required for analysis (e.g., financial data, customer data, marketing data, industry trends). Explain their interaction including how data are extracted, modified, and stored. Consider the extraction transformation loading (ETL) concept in your discussion. 4. Describe the dashboard that will be used to represent the data, KPIs, and answers to the proposed questions (e.g., tables, charts, graphs). Using MS Visio or similar drawing tool, provide a high-level concept drawing of the analytical life cycle described in the paper. Submit both the concept drawing and analysis paper.
