A 20-hp, 1750 rpm, slip-ring motor is to drive a ventilating fanat 330 rpm. The horizontal center distance must be about 8 to 9 ft.for clearance, and operation is continuous, 24 hr./day. a) Whatdriving-pulley size is needed for a speed recommended as aboutoptimum. b) Decide upon a pulley size (iron or steel) and beltthickness, and determine the belt width by the PAES tables.
