MLP is a mechanotransductor with a central role for cardiac and skeletal muscle structure maintenance. A well-established cell line (C2C12) was used to explore the expression of MLP during myogenic differentiation, derived from mouse satellite cells and faithfully mimics the skeletal muscle differentiation process in vitro. Increased MLP expression was observed after 24, 48 and 72 h in C2C12 cells in the presence of differentiation medium (figure below).
