Pt. is being mechanically ventilated on Vol-CMV. The tidal
volume is set at 550, rate is set at 14, peep set 5, flow set
at 45LPM and the FiO2 is at 50%. After you draw the
patient ABG, his results are pH 7.24, pCO2 61, p02 75, HCO3 27.
The physician has ordered that the patient maintain a pCO2 of
45mmHg. What minute ventilation would be
needed to maintain that desired pC02?
