This week we are loolking at Aboriginal people & Indigenous
communities. We will read that health and wellbeing outcomes aren't
the same for non Indigenous and Indigenous people.
Other inequalities also exist. The proportion
of Aboriginal people in the justice system isn't equal,
mortality rates aren't equal, nor are issues of disadvantage,
income, housing, women's health, men's health etc . This
encompasses the social determinants of health which can be applied
to all groups in country.
There are policies and papers including Closing The Gap - Why
are we still in this position when many Australians are
economically secure, in good physical and mental health and are
living longer lives? It's an important question.
