A 84 year old male was admitted to the hospital on February 26
at 16:00 in acute respiratory failure with hypoxia requiring
intubation and mechanical ventilation. He has emphysema due to his
continuous cigarette smoking for over 50 years. Nasal swab culture
shows positive COVID-19 and he later develops pneumonia.
Patient expired at 19:00 on March 2. (2020 leap year)
Final diagnoses: (1) Respiratory failure with hypoxia (2)
emphysema, (3) pneumonia, (4) COVID-19 (5) smoker, (6) intubation
& mechanical ventilation
