3. A disk of radius R lies in the xy plane and has its center at the origin. Find the electric potential and the electric field at a point P (x,0,0), where x > R. In three cases: a. The disk is charged uniformly with a surface density Oo. b. The surface charges density o = 0o COS Q, where w is the azimuthal angle. c. The surface charges density o = o cos 20, where is the azimuthal angle. In all cases, calculate the field exactly and then compare it with a dipole and quadrupole approximations (calculate q,p, and Q and potentials and fields due to these contributions.) Find the asymptotic values for the potential for x » R.
