Compound D has a molecular formula of C8H7OCl. The IR spectrum
for D shows important absorption bands at 2850, 2980, 1717 and 1600
cm-1 . The 1H NMR shows two doublets at H 7.60 (2H) and 8.00 (2H)
and a singlet at H 2.50 (3H) while the 13C NMR spectrum shows six
different signals. (i) Based on the given IR and NMR spectral data,
deduce the structure of compound D. (ii) In the mass spectrum of
compound D, two molecular ion peaks with different intensities are
observed. Give the m/z values of these molecular ion peaks. (iii)
Explain the observation of these peaks in (ii)
