Question 1 (a) The brake shown has wrap angle 220° and the rotating brake drum radius is 80 mm. A brake force of 90 N is applied via the cable and the coefficient of friction between the brake and the drum is 0.3. The moment of inertia of the rotating drum is 2.5 kg m3. Calculate the brake torque (magnitude only) generated (in Nm, 1 decimal place) (b) How long is the braking time (in second, 2 decimal place) from if the initial rotating speed is 120 rpm? Will downrate for just answering one subpart only. Please answer will full steps.
