A simply supported beam 300 mm wide, 500 mm deep and spans 5 m
supports a service super imposed dead load of 6 kN/m and service
live load of 9 kN/m. Concrete strength
f’c = 21 MPa and steel yield strength
fy = 415 MPa. Concrete cover to bar
centroid is 70 mm. Determine the required amount
of tensile reinforcement in mm^2 as per provisions of NSCP
2015. Write your final answer to the nearest whole
number.
