IGNORE THIS LINE Problem 4. Consider the system of Fig. 4. (a) Determine the range of K for stability. Consider both positive and negative values of K. (b) Suppose just for the purposes of this question, that the system accurately models a ship steering system, with the closed-loop system input being the wheel position controlled by the 1 person at the helm and the output being the position of the ship. The disturbance D(s) models the effects of ocean currents the ship’s position. In testing the physical system, the value of gain K is set somewhat lower than the lower limit found in (a) for a short period of time. Give a sketch of a typical path that the ship would travel. (c) Repeat (b) for the case that the value of the gain K is set somewhat higher than the upper limit found in (a).
