Joe and Kim are a married couple with no children. They own two
houses, one in New York and one in Maryland. They also own two
cars, a pick-up truck, and a small boat with a 25 horsepower motor.
Joe has a job that requires that he frequently travel to Ireland.
When he is not traveling, he works from their home in New York.
Occasionally, Kim travels to Ireland with Joe for a vacation. They
have a personal umbrella liability policy with a $2 million per
occurrence limit, and unendorsed homeowners and personal auto
policies with the required underlying limits. Which one of the
following situations would be covered by the personal umbrella
policy, but not the underlying policies?
A. A delivery man making a delivery to Joe falls and hits
his head on their front walk.
B. Joe is driving the pick-up in Maryland and causes a serious
accident.
C. Kim is driving a rental car in Ireland and caused a serious
accident.
D. Joe is on his boat and collides with another boat causing
significant damage and injuring a passenger
