The SN P region is a constraint made from the relative change of
the apparent magnitude of supernovae as a function of redshift (the
‘P’ refers to the ‘Pantheon’ compilation of supernovae). The CV SN
region, on the other hand, is the local determination of
H0 using Type Ia supernovae with absolute magnitudes
calibrated by reference to Cepheid variables. What makes Type Ia
SNe particularly suitable for cosmological constraints?
