I'm having problems creating a concept map with anatomy and
differential diagnosis for this one.
A 13-year-old female volleyball player presents with anterior
knee pain. She has a really hard time pinpointing where and
generally runs her hand over her kneecap but immediately clarifies
that the pain is inside and sharp. Her parents bring her in
as the pain is a recurrent point of conversation after training
sessions. A friend gave her a knee sleeve and that seems to
make things a bit better. There is no obvious sign of
swelling or ecchymosis. Active and passive range of motion is
full and pain-free. All ligamentous tests are negative for laxity
or pain.
