A Client: Mr. Gingras Age: 68 Mr. Gingras is a 98 year old male. He presents with multiple small purplish-red lesions across the right side of his forehead and over his scapula. The lesions are 2 to 4mm in diameter, clustered, and have no exudate or elevation. The client reports that these are getting better and that 6 months ago they were very painful and crusted. His nurse practitioner provided him with "pills" and now they are much better. He comes in with a chief complaint of pain behind his right ear (that is similar to the pain from the lesions) and his right eye is becoming dry quickly. He did note getting soap in his right eye this morning when he showered but states that the dry eyes were there most of yesterday. 1) On the basis of the client's descriptions, what is the cause of the lesions on the forehead and right scapula? 2) On the basis of the presentation of symptoms, what further questions do you have for the client? 3) On the basis of the data collected so far, what condition do you feel is affecting the client?
