QUESTION 3 (10 MARKS) a) 2HBr (g) → H2(g) + Brz (g) The rate equation for the thermal decomposition of hydrogen bromide is rate=k[HBr]?. At 250 °C and a concentration of 1.20 mol dm, the rate of decomposition of hydrogen bromide is 3.5 x 10-4 mol dms! i. Calculate the rate constant for the reaction at 250 °C (state its unit). ii. Calculate the number of hydrogen molecules formed per second (rate of formation) in 1dm of solution. (Avogadro number: 6.02 x 1023) (2 + 1 marks)
