Bivariate Regression Section 7. (6 points) Nancy has conducted research on "feelings of individuality" among immigrants and "years spent in the U.S." She predicts that as immigrants spend more time in the U.S. their individuality scores (which can range from 25 to 90) will increase. From SPSS, Nancy obtains the following: slope = 980 and Y-intercept = 41 a. create the regression equation and determine predicted Y when X = 5 and when X = 25 years spent in the U.S. b. If Nancy obtains a pearson's r of r =:27. Help them interpret this pearson's r by stating the direction and strength of the relationship. C. Calculate Nancy's r2 and explain what this tells us about the relationship between the variables. d. Does this equation provide evidence that Nancy's prediction may be right? Why or why not?
