O (d) Calculate the energy released in joules, in the following nuclear reaction. Li + H → He + He The masses of the nuclei are as follows:- Mass of Li is 6.014 u Mass of His 2.102 u Mass of He is 4.002 u Calculate the binding energy and binding energy per nucleon of carbon- 14. Give your answer in MeV. The mass of carbon 14 nucleus is 14.003242 u The rest mass of a proton is 1.007276 u The rest mass of a neutron is 1.008665 u (Use all of these significant figures in your initial calculations)
