h3 h₂ h₁ ho 200 mm Water basin 2000 mm 100 mm Compressor Air injection, x liter/sec. B D 50 mm The following system (request for further clarification of answer on earlier post): I have a tube that is placed in a very large water basin (swimming pool or so). At the start the water level in the tube is the same as in the basin. I use a compressor to inject air in the tube at I at a higher pressure than the water pressure at 1. As a result of the air injection the air-water mix will in the tube starts to overflow. Water gets sucked into the tube at B. Question Given the sizing in the figure at the left, a continuous injection of 1 liter of air per second at I, and assuming that after a while the system will reach a stable flow state, I want to calculate the following: 1) The mix of air/water in the tube between A and I, so what is the percentage of liters of air vs liters of water. Ignore the expansion of rising air. I think there was some confusion on stable state. I meant a continuous circular flow of the air/water mix, due to a continuous injection of air of 1 liter/sec. Any suggestion is really appreciated.
