A ball of mass 16 kg is hanging from a rope of mass 19 kg and length 16 m (Assume that the mass density of the rope is uniform). Find the time (in seconds) it takes for a transverse wave propagating on the rope to travel from one end of the rope to the other. Hint: The speed of a wave in a string is given by where To is the tension on the string and is the mass density per unit length. Take into account that since the rope is not massless, the tension along the rope is not uniform (and therefore the speed of the traveling wave is not constant).
