Summary
It is not easy to end the life of a tree. A simple blow by a knife can do it no harm. The growth of a tree is a slow process. It comes out of the earth by consuming it. It feeds upon the outer layer of the earth. It has absorbed its nourishment through years of sunlight, air, water and out of the leaves sprouting from its scaly bark. Giving blows (hacking and hopping) to the tree does not do damage to its shape and size. Soon a tree gets back to its original shape.
To end the life of a tree, the root has to be pulled out of the earth which holds it securely. It has to be pulled out entirely from the depths of its roots in the earth. The strength of the tree has to be exposed to its source where it is white and wet. It has been lying in the bowels of the earth for years. Then it has to be kept in the sun for the discolouring of the bark. After being uprooted from the earth, the tree no longer gets its nourishment through its leaves and branches. It gets withered. Then the tree is supposed to have been killed.
