Question 4 continued b. HuaMan plans to assess its five suppliers. HuaMan considers assessing the overall performances of the five suppliers on the basis of the following three criteria: C₁> Delivery Delay, C2> Product Quality and C3> Duration of Collaboration. HuaMan has provided the assessment for each of the suppliers on every criterion, as shown in the following table: Decision Table Criteria Supplier C₁ (days) C₂ (score) C3 (months) H-A 11 6 30 H-B 17 5 36 H-C 12 4 27 H-D 9 8 24 H-E 4 9 18 (Note: The most desirable Delivery Delay is 0 days and the least desirable is 18 days; the highest Product Quality Score is 10 and the lowest is 0; the normal Duration of Collaboration with the mid value of 0.5 is 28 months, the best is 40 months and the worst is 12 months) HuaMan considers that Product Quality is about twice as important as Delivery Delay but roughly 3 times as important as Duration of Collaboration. i) In order to select one supplier, HuaMan plans to shortlist all five suppliers for multiple criteria assessment. As a consultant for HuaMan, you are required to analyse HuaMan's plan, provide and explain your advice to HuaMan about its plan. (5%) ii) As HuaMan's consultant, help it find the normalised relative weights of the three criteria based on the information provided. Explain what concern you may have about the information provided and how you would help HuaMan improve the reliability of the weights. (15%) iii) Use an appropriate MCDA approach to help HuaMan rank the suppliers in terms of their overall performance. Explain what assumptions you have made in your analysis and how you would improve the quality of your analysis.
