Write a 500 word reflection paper where you outline the change brought upon by the Enlightenment. What changed between the pre-modern and modern societies? Why did it change? How did those changes lead to a new way of understanding the world? What values were established or questioned? How did Eastern and Western thought change? While you should not answer all of those questions, one or two of them should guide your essay. Then, after establishing an understanding of the changes, compare the ideas of one of the authors from this unit (Hobbes, Locke, or de Grouchy) to the ideas presented in one of the previous units- units one, two, or three.
