An object (50g) is launched into the air with a speed of 5.436 m/s at an angle of 25° above the horizontal, to the right. At its peak height, it explodes into two pieces, m₁ and m2. Immediately after m₁ and m2 move horizontally. m₁ (10g) lands 2.84m behind the launch site. Use standard x- and y-axes for this problem and the launch site as the origin. Ignore air resistance. I. Draw a clear, large diagram of the situation, including all of the relevant information given above. II. What is the x coordinate of m₂ when it hits the ground? III. What is the velocity of each piece the instant after the explosion?
