A mixture is first made of 126 cm³ of a 0.212 mol.dm-3 solution of silver nitrate (AgNO3) and y cm³ of a 1.25 mol.dm-³ solution of sodium cyanide (NaCN). Thereafter, 224 cm³ of a 0.0148 mol.dm-3 solution of potassium iodide (KI) is added to this mixture and the resulting diluted solution is to 2.00 dm³. Calculate the value of y that will just prevent the precipitation of silver iodide. (14)
