5 (a) Compound C and D are cyclic 3 carbons that isomeric to each other with molecular formula C5H8O. Both compound C and D positive with Brady's reagent. Compound D gives yellow precipitate when it reacts with iodine in aqueous sodium hydroxide but compound C does not. Determine the structural formula of compound C and D. (i) (ii) Write reaction of compound C and D with Brady's reagent and iodine in aqueous sodium hydroxide [5 marks] (b) When 2-propanol reacts with acidified potasssium permanganate(VII) solution, compound T' is formed. (i) Write the reaction equation of 2-propanol with acidified potasssium permanganate(VII). (ii) Draw and name the structure of compound T according IUPAC nomenclature. (111) Write the reaction equation between compound T with (a) KCN in HC1 (b) Sodiumborohidrate (NaBH4) in methanol (iv) Distinguish compound T and propanal. State the name of the test, reagent, observation and reaction equation involved.
