3. (a) In the figure below, a 10.0 kg salami is connected with a cord that runs to a spring scale (in weight units) and a pulley. Calculate the reading of the spring scale in Newton (M). [1 mark] Spring scale

(b) Two forces are acting on an object of mass 10 kg. As a result, the object moves with velocity, v = (2tí +3j - 2k) where i is a time in second. If the first force is F₁ = (4} −5k)N, determine the second force, F₂. [2 marks] (c) An elevator of mass 1000 kg is moving vertically downward with a deceleration from a speed of 12 m/s until it stops after a distance of 50 m. Calculate the tension in the supporting cable. [3 marks]

(d) In figure below, a 7.0 kg block is initially at rest on a ramp of 25° from the horizontal line. An applied force F along the ramp of magnitude 30.0 N and a force P perpendicular to the ramp are applied to the block. The coefficients of static friction for the block and the ramp surface is μ = 0.40. 44₂ (i) Calculate the maximum static friction acting on the block that is just about to move up the inclined plane. [2 marks] (ii) Determine the minimum magnitude of force P in order to move the block up the ramp. [3 marks]
