2. I (a) A small metal ball is rolling on a table horizontally with speed v₂ = 2.0m/s and then off the edge of the tabletop that is 2.0 m high. Calculate the horizontal distance travelled by the ball from the table edge until it hits the floor. [2 marks] (b) An object moves at constant speed 200 m/s toward east for 20 seconds then in a direction 20° south of east for 50 seconds. Calculate its average velocity for that duration 70 seconds and write in unit vectors. [2 marks]
(c) An object travels along a straight line in horizontal with a velocity v = (5 - 2t) m/s, where t is in seconds. When t=0 s, the particle is located at position x = 0. Determine the (i) acceleration when t = 5 s, [1 mark] (ii) displacement from t = 5 to t = 12 s. [2 marks]
