A system uses a pulley that is made using a small ring of mass mA. The radius ra is attached to a disk of mass me and radius r so they move together. The pulley has blocks m₁ and m₂ attached together by a massless string that wraps over the larger radius of the pulley. Their centers of mass have a vertical separation distance L (not shown in the figure). The system is held in place before being released. Neglect any friction produced by the pulley's rotation once the system is in motion. MB MB m₁ m₂ Use the following values: m₁ = 2.5kg, m₂ = 1.5kg, L = 5m, mA = 1.15kg, rA = .1m, MB = 1.35kg, rB = .15m. I. Using Conservation of Mechanical Energy, find the angular speed of the pulley and the linear speed of m2 at the instant m1 has fallen 2m. Does the angular speed of the pulley change while the system is in motion?
