Written Response 1. The threshold frequency (fo) to emit photoelectrons from the surface of cesium metal is 5.169x1014 Hz. An incident light with 3.01687 eV photons is shone on the metal and photoelectrons are emitted. a) Determine the maximum speed (in m/s) of the escaping photoelectrons. Answer in 3 sig digs (5 marks) b) What type of EMR (IR, Visible, UV) is the incident light? Explain your answer. Hint: Calculate the wavelength of the incident light. (2 marks)
