Molten steel is produced at a rate of 1275 kg/hr. This is
distributed to 36% for extrusion, 25% for casting , 24% for
cold-rolling and the rest for hot-rolling. . The efficiencies of
extrusion, casting and rolling (both hot and cold) are 95%, 99% and
90%, respectively, based on total weight of the products produced.
If the required hot steel roll from the process is 264 kg/hr, how
much scale-up is needed for the steel plant? Give your answer in
terms of % increase in the production in one decimal
place
