1.1 As an Industrial engineering student, how would you differentiate between fixed automation and programmable automation? (4) 1.2 There are three categories of manufacturing systems (that are mostly utilised in industries to manufacture their products. In this ever-changing world they are now represented in form revolutions (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th revolutions and etc). Use your industrial engineering theoretical understanding to answer the following questions: 1.2.1 How would you discuss the automated system in relation to the fourth industrial revolution? (4) 1.2.2 How would you design an automated system that clearly demonstrate all relevant aspects of semiautomated and fully automated system? (4) NB: Give an engineering design that present automated system 1.2.3 Unions (works representees) believes that the maturing of the revolutions brings high level of retrenchment in industries. As industrial engineering develops a solution that will make Unions freely adopt the changing revolution from one revolution to another. (3) 1.3 How does a boring operation differ from a turning operation? (1) 1.4 How would you categories the two main kinds of cutting fluid according to function? (2) [18]
