Provide a mechanism for the reaction of 4-methoxyacetophenone
and bleach under acidic conditions. This is an electrophilic
aromatic substitution reaction that will produce
3-chloro-4-methoxyacetophenone. (show each step in the entire
mechanism not just an overview).
I am confused at how the chlorine in bleach becomes an
electrophile that can be substituted onto the ring.
