You will research and identify two
organizations that market to vulnerable groups such as tweens,
young adults, market illiterates, or the elderly. One organization
should be selected for their responsible marketing techniques,
demonstrating sound ethical reasoning in their decision-making. The
second would be an organization that uses questionable marketing
techniques to increase their profitability.
You must find at least five articles for each organization a
total of ten, that support your discussion. Using your research,
Required Readings, course texts, and any other topic-related
information, provide an overview of the best or worst practices, an
analysis of how the practices do or do not conform to the elements
involved in ethical reasoning, and your personal views and
opinions. You must address each of the following in your
discussion:
Part
1 Abstract:
Provide a brief synopsis of the pertinent elements of your paper.
Include a brief explanation of the situation and related
conclusions.
Part
2
Introduction: Introduce your report, providing the reader
with an idea of why you selected this area of research and the
material you are about to review.
Part
3 Literature
Review: Utilize and reference ten (10) articles using the APA
format. Summarize each source and relate it to the topic of your
project, blending the articles in a way that provides the reader
with an overview of the key concepts and findings. A thread should
run through your literature review, bringing the reader to the
conclusions brought forth by the various authors. Make sure your
information flows well and is logically categorized. Your review of
each article should be comprised of the following elements. Do not
include personal opinion.
1. A summary, recapping
the main points in the article
2. An overview of the key
concepts and findings
3. A synopsis of the
authors’ conclusions related to your discussion topic
Part
4 Discussion: Provide an
overview of the best or worst practices, an analysis of how the
practices do or do not conform to the elements involved in ethical
reasoning, and your personal views and opinions. You must address
each of the following in your discussion:
Part 5
Summary:
Provide an overview of the concepts discussed in the literature
review and related discussion, including your personal commentary.
Offer insights from the Required Readings, including the 7-step
ethical reasoning test. Draw upon your personal experience to
support your commentary where appropriate.
Part 6
Future Considerations: After
reflecting upon the literature and applying the concepts learned in
the course, comment on the direction you feel the trends in
marketing ethics research are leaning and what you foresee the
future issues might be. This section should also include a
list of possible future studies related to your topic.
