Writing Your Resume
Create your resume, following the format, guidelines and
recommendations as presented in the
course materials.
Select your real-world target role + industry/market that you will
pursue for your career. Then
create a corresponding resume that reflects what YOU have to offer
for the selected target role
+ industry. It should NOT be tailored to a specific job posting,
but should be generic for any job
postings within the target role + industry.
Ensure that the resume:
1. Is organized and effectively presented in the recommended
sections (30 marks):
• Heading
• Profile Statement
• Career History and Accomplishments, including:
• adhering to SOAR format
• using appropriate descriptive verbs and keywords
• Additional Information
2. Uses recommended formatting and visual appearance e.g. font and
line spacing
(10 marks)
3. Adheres to the recommended formatting Guidelines,
including:
• Maximum 2-3 pages (excluding title page)
Include a title page which includes:
• “Assignment #1” label/heading
• your name
• student Id
• your target role + industry/market
