Question 1 a. A gas-phase reaction is carried out isothermally at 227°C and 20 atm in a 100 dm³ constant volume batch reactor. The feed contains a mixture of 75% A and 25% inert. The reaction is as follows: A B+C i. Assuming that the ideal gas law is valid, calculate the initial concentration of A. (unit: moles/dm³) (5 marks) 11. If the reaction is a first order reaction (-A=KCA) and the rate constant, k= 0.1 min¹, determine the time (unit: minutes) necessary to consume 99% of A. (5 marks)
