You stop ingesting Vitamin A and beta-carotene
(precursor of retinal).
Your lens hardens, losing its ability to get thinner
when stretched.
Muscles of the ciliary body weaken and cannot contract
as strongly.
The dilator muscles of your iris can no longer
contract.
