A B S+ VB C R VB = 10 V, R = 250 kn Figure 2.1 A capacitor of unknown value is charged by connecting it to a 10 V battery as shown in Figure 2.1 with the switch S in position A. The capacitor is then discharged through a 250 kO resistor R when S is moved to position B at time t=0 s. The voltage across R is measured after 12 s and is found to be 6 V. Calculate (i) the value of capacitor C [4 marks] (ii) the time for the voltage to decrease to 3 V. [4 marks] Your solution should show all of your calculations and not just the numerical answers to attract full marks. Note: You may assume that in position B the current is given by /(t)=loe-/t where the symbols have their usual meaning.
