Goal
A job campaign consists of many tasks: finding potential
employers, reviewing job openings, writing a cover letter and
resume, interviewing, receiving rejections, negotiating job offers,
and making decisions. The best place to start is with a goal or a
career objective. It may be helpful to ask, “What do I want to do?”
and “Where do I want to be?” Hence, the goal of this
assessment is to identify and craft your career (or professional)
objectives.
Requirements
For these objectives, remember that they are best written as
action statements and not full sentences with lots of description.
The key is to get at the heart of what you want to accomplish and
how you will accomplish it. Note that these are not the same as
resume objectives. See the Additional Resources folder in the
Content section of the course for format explanation and report
exemplar.
