A mixture of dry air and NH3 enters an
absorption tower at a rate of 80 ft3/min at
100oF and 760 mm Hg with 90% saturation. The vapor
pressure of NH3 at 100oF is 80 mmHg. The
gas leaves the tower at 740 mm Hg and 80oF and contains
2% mole NH3. If the water enters the tower at a rate of
180 lbs/min
Calculate the following:
(a) molar flow rate of the gas leaving the tower
(b) mass flow rate of solution produced from the tower.
(c) the mole of NH3 in the liquid leaving the
tower for ever
