Two reservoirs are connected by a single asphalted cast iron pipe of L-3750 m; p= 20 cm to discharge water @5°C between reservoir A (elevation 60 m) to reservoir B (elevation 79 m). The estimated total minor loss coefficient due fittings, elbows, valves etc... is k-17.75. Definitely pumping system should be installed to allow this flow to occur within the system so as to help for carrying water from the lower reservoir 'A' to the upper reservoir "B". i-check the possibility of a single pump? (15 marks) ii- determine the power (Pp) consumed by the suggested pumping system (2 identical pumps in series). (75 marks) iii- if another identical pump will be added in series (3 identical pumps) to the system determined in part ii, what is the % increase in Q and in P in this case.
