Question 1 (2.5 marks) :- Design the longitudinal and shear reinforcement for a 275 mm square, short braced column which supports either: a- An ultimate axial load of 1280 kN and a moment of 62.5 kNm about the x-x axis. b- An ultimate axial load of 1280 kN about the x-x and 25 kNm about the y-y axis. Take f-35N/mm², fy 460N/mm², cover to all reinforcement is 35 mm. Page 1 of 1 Question 2 (2.5 marks) :- A braced column of 400 X 400 cross-section resists at the ultimate limit state an axial load of 1040 kN and end moments of 84kN and 12kNm causing double curvature about the minor axis X-X. the column's effective leights are le 6.75 m and 18.0 m and the characteristic material strengths f. 30N/mm² and f, = 460 N/mm²
