Question 1 Draw all appropriate diagrams 2 4 OHH Oo M TL13 JA TL23 j0.03 j0.03 3 The above diagram shows two generators G₁ and G₂ connected, respectively, through transformers T₁ and T₂ to two high voltage transmission lines. Apparatus ratings and reactances are: G₁: 1000 MVA, 20 kV, X₁ = X₂ = 0.1 p.u.; Xo = 0.05 p.u. G₂: 800 MVA, 20 kV, X₁ X₂ = 0.15 p.u.; Xo = 0.08 p.u. T₁: 1000 MVA, 500Y/20Y KV, X = 0.175 p.u. T₂: 800 MVA, 500Y/22A kV, X = 0.16 p.u. Lines: X₁ = 0.15 p.u.; Xo = 0.4 p.u. The neutral of each generator is grounded through a reactance of 0.03 p.u. based on the generator rating. Working on a base of 1000 MVA, 500 kV in the transmission line circuit and using a fault voltage of 1.05 per unit: (a) Draw the positive, negative and zero sequence networks (b) For the following faults, with a fault reactance of j0.1 per unit, at the point as designated for each student in Table 1 below, find, in per unit, (i) The current in phase C of G₂ for a three phase to ground fault (ii) The current in Phase B for a line to line fault at phases B and C (iii) The current in Phases B and C for a line to line to ground fault on Phases B and C (iv) The phase voltages during the fault at (iii). (v)The current in Phase A at G₁ for a line to ground fault on Phase A. G1 T2 b G2
