7. When a solution of sodium iodide, is added to a solution
of lead nitrate a precipitate forms according to the following
equation:
2NaI (aq) + Pb(NO3)2 (aq) → 2NaNO3 (aq) + PbI2 (s)
a) Calculate the moles of precipitate that would form if 50. mL
of 0.20 M NaI is mixed with 50. mL of 0.20M Pb(NO3)2.
__________ mol
b) Without doing a calculation, explain whether you would make
more, less or the same amount of precipitate if you mixed 50. mL of
0.20 M NaI with 75. mL of 0.20M Pb(NO3)2.
