1. UC Davis students conduct experiments on two types of gasses in separate containers. They find that in one container three moles of gas made of single Davisium, Da, atoms have the same thermal energy as two moles of a gas in a different container made of molecules consisting of two Da atoms (Das) with vibrational modes frozen. Find the ratio of the average speeds of the particles in the two containers: "Da Show your work. VDQ 2. Now you perform a constant volume measurement on two moles of Da gas and a separate constant pressure measurement on a Da2 gas of unknown number of moles (no vibrational modes). You find that the heat capacities in both experiments are the same. How many moles of the Da2 did you have? 3. Shown here is a temperature vs pressure state diagram for an ideal gas. For AU, W, and Qfind whether the quantity is positive, negative, zero, or cannot be determined. Explain your reasoning. Temperature Pressure
