@ Set-up Once you click the link on the title slide, click the "lab" button Use the bulbs, wires, and batteries to build two circuits that match the diagrams below Paste a screenshot showing Circuit A and B in the space below o CIRCU IRCUIT B CIRCUIT A Paste screenshot here ♡

< a . Comparing Circuits A and B when the circuit is opened Circuit A is in series," meaning that there is only one path through which electrons can travel Click the circle beside one of the light bulbs in Circuit A, then click the scissor button to break/open the circuit. Describe what happens to the circuit and the other bulb. Answer here Circuit B is in parallel meaning that there are multiple paths through which electrons 0 0 can travel Click the circle beside one of the light bulbs in Circuit B, then click the scissor button to break/open the circuit. Describe what happens to the circuit and the other bulb. Answer here

0. Amma Comparing current of series and parallel circuits Reconnect the wires to close the circuits for A and B Click and drag an Ammeter from the top right corner of the screen Drag the crosshairs of the ammeter to multiple places along the wires of Circuit A (the series circuit). How many amps did you read? Answer here Was the current the same across all parts of the circuit? If not, describe how the current was different at different places. Answer here @ 2 Drag the crosshairs of the ammeter to multiple places along the wires of Circuit B (the parallel circuit). How many amps did you read? Answer here Was the current the same across all parts of the circuit? If not, describe how the current was different at different places. Answer here

Ohm's Law and Current In the top right comer, check the box that says "values" Show Current Elections Conventional Labels Vues Voltage 90 volts . You can also click a bulb and change its resistance with a slider Make sure the ammeter is close to the battery For both circuits, experiment with changing the resistance across a bulb in a circuit As a bulb's resistance increases. how does the current change? Increase or decrease? Place the ammeter close to the battery on Circuit A. Click the battery and use the voltage slider to increase the voltage. How does the current change as a result? Increase or decrease? Place the ammeter close to the battery on Circuit B. Click the battery and use the voltage slider to increase the voltage, How does the current change as a result? Increase or decrease? As a bulb's resistance decreases, how does the current change? Increase or decrease?

Wrap-up 1. Name two advantages of wiring circuits in parallel instead of series. Answer here 2. How do the voltage and resistance of a circuit affect current? Answer here 3. Look at the simulation. The yellow side of the battery is the positive terminal. Do electrons move through the circuit from negative positive or positive - negative? Answer here
