Compensation for Sales Professionals A local company of sales professionals in Abu Dhabi conducted a survey of its employees to study the relationship, if any, between the years of experience and salary for individuals employed inside and outside sales positions. On the survey, respondents were asked to specify one of three levels of years of experience: low (1-10 years), medium (11-20 years), and high (21 or more years). The complete data set, consisting of 160 observations, is stored in the Excel file SalesSalary.xlsx. Please download the file.

You should consider the following instructions when answering the case study question and preparing your report: 1) For confidence intervals: • Check all assumptions. • Explain the results (decision). After each question, paste the Mega-Stat output. . II) For testing hypothesis: • State the null and alternative hypotheses. Check the necessary assumptions. • According to the question, make the test using the P-value, or the test statistic, or the C.I. • Make a conclusion (decision) statement in the words of the original problem. • After each question, paste the Mega-Stat output. III) For the report • Should be written on word document. • On the first page, write the names, student ID number, and section number. • Show all the steps of the solution, and after each question paste the Mega-Stat output. The report should have the following item 1 Title 2 Introduction 3 Main text 4 Write a full statistical report about relationship between the years of experience and salary for individuals employed inside and outside sales positions.

a Answer all of the following questions to help the manager preparing his report and after each question paste the Mega-Stat output. 1. Use descriptive statistics to summarize the data. 2. Is the mean annual salary for all salespersons different than 20000 AED? Use a 0.05 level of significance, and Construct a 95% confidence interval of the mean annual salary for all salespersons (test the hypotheses using both p value and C.I method) 3. Is there any significant difference of the mean salary due to position? Use a 0.05 level of significance 4. Construct a 95% confidence interval estimate of the mean salary difference for inside and outside salespersons. 5. Explain how your conclusion in part 3 can be driven from part 4, (test the hypothesis in question 3 using C.I in question 4). 6. Is there any significant difference of the mean salary due to years of experience? Use a 0.05 level of significance. 7. Give point estimates for the proportion of salespersons according to their positions. 8. Is there a difference between the proportions of inside salesperson between Low and High experience? Use a 0.05 level of significance. 9. Construct a 95% confidence interval of the difference in proportion of inside salespersons between Low and High experience. 10. Is the salesperson position depend on the salesperson experience? Use a 0.05 level of significance. 11. Use all the above questions to write a report to describe and make inference about relationship between the years of experience and salary for individuals employed inside and outside sales positions.
