A furnace used high-volatile bituminous coal with the following analysis: 5.7% M, 25.6% VCM, 64.0% FC, 1.3% N, (y/10)% S and 2.8% ash. The refuse analyzed 4.6% VCM, 11.3% FC, 84.1% ash and a calorific value of 34.75 MJ/kg. Calculate the percentage of gross calorific value lost in the refuse.
