Question 1: A porous material has a square shape with a width and length of 0.1 m and a thickness of 0.01 m. Its porosity and tortuosity are 0.65 and 3 respectively. The liquid flowrate of component A through the porous material is measured and found to be 0.000252 mol/h. The diffusion coefficient of A, D is 3 m/s. The total concentration of the system is 100 mol/m' and the system can be assumed dilute. On one side of the surface of the porous material there is only pure B. a) Calculate the composition of A in %, on the other side of the surface of the porous material. [6 marks) b) Explain in your own words, what happens to the flux as time passes. [3 marks]
