TASK 2 • Sketch of the parking layout with dimensions •
Justification and assumptions • Parking survey calculations
The characteristics,
features and total dimensions for a parking area is given. Draw a
typical sketch clearly indicating the dimensions of the parking
layout. Mention the total number of cars that can be parked in your
layout and all the assumptions used for the selected layout and
design with proper justification for your selection. Also calculate
Parking Accumulation, Average Accumulation, Parking Load, Average
Parking Load, Maximum Parking Load in Vehicle Hour, etc. based on
the given data.
Each student will be
given separate data based on the student number through BlackBoard.
The details of parking area and results of the parking survey are
to be used for the completion of the above task.
Last Digit of Student
Student number: X (For example if the Student number is NU220581.
Then last digit is 1. So X= 1)
Location of the parking: Urban
Residential area
Shape: Refer the table for Width (W)
and Length (L). For example for the student number
NU220581, L=80m long and W=80m wide, the shape is
a Square.
Vehicles expected: Cars
Rثquirement: Entry
will be from one road and exit should be on the other road opposite
to the entry.
Preferred parking:
Take the value of angle from Table (Angle= A0). For
example for the student number NU220581, Angle of
parking of cars will be A0= 30
